How I work?
Therapy with me is collaborative, trauma-informed, and shaped around you as an individual. Below is a sense of what sessions may feel like and what guides my approach.
People come to therapy carrying many things, questions they can’t quite name, feelings that feel tangled, or a quiet sense that something isn’t sitting right. You don’t need to have the words ready when you arrive. We take time to find them together.
My way of working is grounded, human, and relational. I focus on how life feels for you right now, and in the patterns that show up as we talk, the pauses, the hesitations, the moments where emotion arrives before explanation. Sometimes we speak easily, sometimes we slow down. Both are part of the process.
I’m a British Pakistani integrative counsellor with lived cultural awareness, and I work in an inclusive, respectful way. I welcome people from all walks of life and recognise how culture, family, faith, migration, and social context can shape our inner and emotional worlds. I see you as a whole person, not a problem to be fixed.
The foundation of our work is person-centred therapy, meaning the space is collaborative, non-judgemental, and led by you. Alongside this, I may draw from other approaches where helpful:
CBT, to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact
Psychodynamic therapy, to understand how earlier experiences and relationships may still influence the present
Gestalt therapy, to build awareness of feelings, sensations, and what’s happening in the here and now
Sessions don’t follow a strict formula. Some feel reflective or emotional, others more practical, and some may feel unclear or unsettled. Silence is welcome, and there’s no pressure to perform or explain yourself neatly. We work at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
Many people find that over time therapy becomes a place where they can speak more freely — where things long held inside begin to be shared, sometimes bringing relief, sometimes mixed emotions. I see my role as walking alongside you with warmth, honesty, and curiosity as we make sense of what matters to you.
